ABSA 2017 Conference Photography Albuquerque Convention Center

ABSA is the American Biological Safety Association.  You have probably never heard of them unless you are in the biology field, but after four days photographing their 60th Annual Biological Safety Conference, I learned just how important the work they do is!  I think I also finally figured out how to get around the maze that is the Albuquerque Convention Center!

Halloween Family Portraits in Albuquerque New Mexico with Karla

Karla and her family came over in costume to my home studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico for a Halloween family portrait session.  This was my first time to photograph 4 people in my home studio.  Using a 10' x 12' white Muslin background everyone fit easily and it was all lit up by my huge new 55" softbox!  I told everyone to act like your costume and the above is the result!

Linkedin Headshot Session in Albuquerque New Mexico with Krish

n the past month I have really upgraded my home studio equipment in order to keep making better and better headshots for my Albuquerque clients.  Krish was my first client to be photographed with my new Westcott Strobelite Plus studio light which was connected to my new, gigantic 55" octagonal softbox.  For the headshot above, which Krish is already using on his Linkedin profile (see here), I used just the Stroblite in the giant softbox resulting in very soft shadows and light falloff, complemented with using a 50mm lens with large aperture for the shallow depth of focus look.  Krish let me kind of experiment with this shot and I think it is a great look that I hope more future clients choose as well for a modern, creative business headshot.

15th Offcenter Folk Art Festival 2017 Albuquerque New Mexico

In my brief time living in Albuquerque, New Mexico I have already learned that Robinson Park between the downtown and old town areas of the city is a very active location for events.  The 15th Annual Offcenter Folk Art Festival was my second event there in the past few months.  It was a lively and colorful event great for candid photos like the one above.

Octoberfest 2017 Eurocars Albuquerque New Mexico

I woke up this morning and found out there was a car show going on just a few minutes down the road from me at the Albuquerque International Support Airport.  It even had free admissions so I packed up my Nikon D750 with Tamron 15-30mm lens attached and headed down Gibson Blvd SE.  This show was the Eurocars version, so of course only European cars were featured, which is fine with me!  Sadly though, no Aston Martins.
