Lathrop State Park in Colorado is notable for several reasons. First, it was the first state park in Colorado. Second, it is made up of not one, but two lakes! Martin Lake is for power boats and water skiers, while Horseshoe Lake is for more peaceful ventures like canoeing and kayaking. No matter which lake you choose there are stunning views of Spanish Peaks. The drone’s eye view shows how close these lakes are separated by a narrow strip of land combining for a very unique state park in Colorado! Have you ever been there?

Best rural land real estate photographer for Cibola County New Mexico

My first rural land real estate photography shoot of 2021 had me right back to where I spent much of the last few months of 2020, in the El Morro area of Cibola County, New Mexico. The snow had 95% melted from most areas, except north facing slopes, as you can see in the photos, especially from the drone aerial photos. This particular property extended all the way up and over the mesa, which was a tricky little climb for me in the snow with two cameras and a tripod! This is the physical ability and professionalism I have to make sure, even in difficult conditions, I get the best photographic coverage of a property for this client.

When light and sky and clouds come together for rural land photography

In the past 4 years I have photographed hundreds and hundreds of rural land real estate properties all over New Mexico. Every now and then the light and the sky make for an exceptional background to what in reality is just an empty piece of high desert. Such was the case for this property in Torrance County New Mexico, near Moriarty. The land had just one bush on it, and otherwise just foot high grass. However, thanks to an infinite sky filled with soft sunlight and painted with just the right amount of clouds, these rural land photos stand out. This does not happen by accident, as I waited over 2 weeks for just the right day for this client, even driving halfway out there (50 miles round trip!) only to turn around as it became too cloudy. This is the experience and professionalism I offer real estate clients. No one has photographed and flown over more rural land properties than I have. El Vado Lake a hidden gem in Rio Arriba County New Mexico

Rio Arriba County New Mexico is one of my favorite places to visit for my rural land real estate work in particular because of the spectacular scenery of and around El Vado Lake. This lake is part of a state park (open seasonally). The water level changes radically with the seasons. I have been at the lake and was shocked at just how low it was at that time. In these photos and drone video I would say the lake is pretty high and near its full volume. Another unique thing about this lake, is that if you are coming from the south, one option you have is to take a 16 mile dirt road right to this southern point of the lake. The dirt road is well maintained, so pretty much any vehicle with a little ground clearance could do it in the dry, and is my recommended way of visiting El Vado Lake. Blue River Ranch Luxury Arizona Real Estate Photography Drone Video

3 Days Photographing Blue River Ranch in Arizona

At the end of August I had a unique opportunity to photograph and fly over a unique luxury ranch property only about 1.5 miles as the crow flies beyond the New Mexico border in a small, small town call Blue River, Arizona. This shoot was unique because I actually stayed on the property in the guest cabin, so I could easily shoot at all hours of the day capturing a luxury real estate property like I never was able to do before. The owner, Miriam, was a gracious host and very helpful even in assisting with some aspects of the shoot. If you want acres of land, your very own pond, and privacy, this might just be the place for you! Drone Aerial Photography for bridges for WSP

Back out on another aerial drone photography flight for WSP involving a bridge, this time in the very small town of Endee, New Mexico. This bridge spans I-40 just before the border with Texas. This is the furthest I have traveled for WSP after several bridge drone photo shoots around Albuquerque, like these all along Tramway Blvd. After the flight I checked out the amazing Rt 66 car museum in the Russells Truck & Travel Center. This is possibly the best ever gas/convenience store/truck stop I have ever been to. I highly recommend stopping by to see the museum and get a snack!

Leaving Albuquerque on a scenic drive for a day trip can take you to Abiquiu Lake. Driving offroad can get you to this less visited southern area of the lake. I was on a rural land real estate shoot for a client who also wanted some footage of the lake. Finding access from the south was a challenge due to a couple of locked gates, but I found a place to launch the drone from just in time to get this stunning golden hour and sunset cinematic 4K drone video.
