Professional Airbnb Photography for Sand Dollar Beach in California
This was my first time traveling to this area of the central California coast, just about due west of Watsonville in the Sand Dollar Beach area. I was there to photograph a client’s longtime family beach house, now being used as an Airbnbvacation rental property. The client wanted drone aerial photos to show its proximity to Sand Dollar Beach and its beach house setting. I included highlighting and featuring photos for the client of the beach vibes found in the views of the property as well as the decor. Thank you Siobhan for choosing me as your Airbnb photographer!
My work as a rural land real estate drone pilot takes me to some very small and out of the way places, like Regina, New Mexico. You probably have never heard of it, but I know it well! It’s northeast of Cuba, New Mexico (heard of it??) and as you can see from the 4K drone video above, has some great views of mesas and mountains.
Drone Photography showing movie studio lot construction progress in ABQ
I always enjoy getting a call from Shyann of Cinelease Studios Albuquerque (formerly I-25 Studios) because I know that means it’s a chance to fly the drone on an active, working movie studio lot! Of course pretty much everything happens indoors and I am of course outdoors with the drone, but it still feels kind of cool. The drone photography work for the latest project is not Hollywood cinematic, but more practical showing the construction progress being made on the lot. In this series of photos, you can see what the area looked like in January, and now what it looks like 4 months later. Lots of progress is being made to update, modernize, and expand the studio property. Thank you Shyann for continuing to choose me as your drone pilot!
Blending drone video and gimbal video for a Nursing Home in ABQ
It is often a client’s request that pushing me to add new skills to my photography toolbox, so when the Odelia Nursing Home in Albuquerque, New Mexico wanted both drone and interior video, I had to quickly buy and learn how to use a handheld gimbal. The results came out well, combining aerial drone video with interior views of the nursing home. To that I added still photo interiors shots too. Since this shoot I already invested in a much better handheld gimbal and look forward to offering clients the option to add “from the ground” video to the drone videos I have been making already for years. Thank you to the team at Odelia for the opportunity!
Grants, New Mexico is a Route 66 town with a cool drive thru
New Mexico has several historic old Route 66 towns, that can now be more easily accessed by traveling on I-40 and exiting. Somewhere between Albuquerque and Gallup resides the town of Grants, which has a cool Route 66 shaped sign you can actually drive your car through and take a photo with. In this tour of Grants drone video, you can see to the east that the town borders lava fields and has views of snow capped mountains to the north. Have you ever been to Grants, New Mexico?
The peacefulness in photographing an apartment community in Albuquerque
I actually find photographing an apartment community one of the most relaxing types of photography I do. Why is that? Because most of the time I am given access to a space, then left alone to make the photos I need. Such was the case when I photographed Stride West in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The leasing office area and lobby was largely empty when I was there, the gym totally empty, same for the pool, and of course the model unit was just me and the furniture. In this way I made my way around the apartment community grounds (with a lift from the staff on a golf cart) getting the 75 photos I needed to per client guidelines. I did start out getting aerial drone photos because the skies were pretty good, and it is my policy to get all exterior shots when I arrive because you never know when the weather will change. Sure enough, by the end of the shoot things would have been too cloudy. Thank you to the team at Stride West for getting everything prepped for the photo shoot.
If you are traveling from the east into New Mexico, then Tucumcari is the first town you will come across. It is a historic Route 66 town feature a Route 66 Museum and some of the old motels and eateries leftover from those classic 1950s days. Tucumcari also has a great dinosaur museum. I have had the opportunity to stay in town twice while out on photoshoots. This last time the client wanted drone video and photo highlights of the town. I recommend spending at least a night in Tucumcari the next time you are passing through!
