Studio headshots for a medical school application in Pacific Grove
Ivan is applying for medical school and needed headshots for that application process. I told him I have done this for many other students before, so meet me at my Pacific Grove headshot photography studio and we will make some great ones for your medical school applications. I kind of feel extra excited making headshots for student applications knowing that in some small way I will be helping them continue their education dreams. I also feel relief that I have already graduated from college and do not need to write any more research papers, ha! Good luck Ivan and thank you for choosing me as your headshot photographer!
10,000 square foot home drone video and photos for construction client marketing
New client Annigoni Construction has been building a 10,000 square foot house in Pebble Beach, California for the past 4 years! It is nearing completion so Nick asked me to come out and get drone video and aerial photos of the build in its current phase. I will return in about 6 months when the house is completed to make another drone video highlighting the finished property. In the meantime when a show piece glass staircase is being installed to the lower level, I will return with my still camera to capture that process too. Thank you Nick for choosing me as your drone pilot and photographer!
Capturing Dreamscape Ocean Photos with a ND Filter in Pacific Grove California
What is a neutral density (ND) filter and why am I so excited to finally own one?? Well, it is a piece of glass that screws onto the front of a camera lens that is like a very, very dark pair of sunglasses. The ND filter greatly restricts how much light comes through the lens, onto the camera sensor. Using typical daylight or twilight camera shooting settings, the ND filter would result in just a black rectangle, totally underexposed! However, this then allows the photographer to keep the shutter open for a long time, for a long exposure photo which means, the moving ocean water becomes like cotton candy. Clouds get spread out across the sky. That is how I was able to make these photos you see here, by leaving the shutter open for 30 seconds. Without the ND filter on, the photos would just be white rectangles, totally overexposed. So I call these types of photos not merely landscape photography, but I think more descriptively, dreamscape photography. Then again, I am a daydreamer!

What is was like judging the 2025 Pacific Grove Rotary Concours Auto Rally
This summer I have been an invited guest to the Pacific Grove Rotary Club luncheons. After getting to know what the club is more about, I have decided to join, and even before becoming an official member, the club asked me to be a judge for its annual Pacific Grove Rotary Concours Auto Rally during Monterey Car Week! I am a car enthusiast and know a lot about a lot of cars, but I have never judged a show before. Luckily, there were not that many criteria to judge each car on. Basically there were 17 categories, 13 specific ones, and 4 overall “grand prizes” to consider for each car. Of the 250+ entries, it was on me to judge the even numbered entries, along with one other judge doing evens, and two other judges doing odds, so that each car had two judges assessing it.
New Member Orientation with the PG Chamber was a huge meet and greet!
The second New Member Orientation event of the year held by the Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce nearly tripled in size! It’s a great event where new members, and old, can really learn what the chamber can offer a local PG business. As an ambassador for the chamber, I attended welcoming the new members, and of course, as a professional photographer, brought my camera to help out the chamber by making photos of everyone holding fun “I’m In” signs. If you are a PG chamber member new or old, be sure and check out the next one!
