Lately I’ve been to both Valencia County and Torrence County in New Mexico several times on rural land real estate photography shoots. This is an opportunity to go to an area that is usually pretty remote and quiet and just listen to the desert as the daytime shift gives way to the nighttime shift. Plus, if the clouds are right, the big sky sunsets make for great views.

On a rural land real estate photography shoot for a new client, Three Rings Property Solutions, the skies in Valencia County that evening were very dramatic, making for rural land photos with impact. As regular readers of Jason Collin Photography will know, I am the most prolific rural land real estate photographer in the entire state of New Mexico. I am always glad when a new land buyer chooses me as their photographer, thanks Mike! The clouds made for a lot of drama to add to the high desert scenery with distant mountain views. This trio of properties were captured by both my Sony mirrorless camera and by drone in aerial photos and 4K drone video too. Including drone video really helps to show off rural land real estate in a maximum attention grabbing way to potential buyers.

For regular followers, you will know that I have been spending a lot of time in Valencia County, New Mexico off of Highway 6 that leads from I-40 to Las Lunas. It just so happened that due to their suddenly being good clouds, I made an all afternoon return trip for a 6-property shoot on a Sunday afternoon. I try and not even look at my cameras or my desk, or anything like that on Sundays, but I knew the forecast was not great for the rest of the week and the client really wanted good clouds in the sky. So to get the shots wanted I went even on a Sunday afternoon, which is what one needs to do if you want to be the best rural land real estate photographer in the state, you go when there are clouds.

A third trip in 6 weeks to Valencia County, New Mexico where I met the enemy of the landscape photographer, i.e. a cloudless sky. However, these agave plants volunteered to be in the foreground of my photo to add some visual flair to what otherwise would have been a mediocre HDR sunset photo. I was back in nearly the exact same area of Valencia County, New Mexico as I was two weeks ago on another rural land real estate shoot and drone flight. Last time I shared these stunning sunset photos, this time it’s a drone video I made of the property. In another coincidence, when I had my drone up in Valencia County last time when I was just out on a drive, a train rolled by and I ended up making a drone video of it. This time another train rolled into frame just as I was setting up to get the final sunset shot. Just another happy coincidence!

My rural land real estate work took me out to Valencia County again, but instead of being south between Las Lunas and Belen somewhere, this time I was 45+ minutes west of Albuquerque down I-40. Apparently, Valencia is a very big county! Mother Nature cooperated very well this evening producing fantastic skies with plenty of clouds. It was very, very windy at this property, but it was still a very peaceful and scenic work place for me for the evening. As always, my trusty Jeep Renegade Trailhawk got me down the dirt roads to reach this remote location.
