Since moving to New Mexico in February of this year, I have started photographing rural properties in all directions around Albuquerque often requiring dirt road driving challenges in my trusty Mazda3 sedan! Most of these have been photographed for Hemingway Land Company. In fact, if you want to buy this 5-acre lot visit here.
I arrived at this property about 50 minutes before sunset, let the dust settle outside my car before getting out as not to have my camera gear get covered in yellow sand, then walked around carefully avoiding holes dug by varmints with my camera shooting some handheld shots of the property.
As the sun started to go down toward the horizon, and after a coyote call, I got out my tripod for some bracketed (HDR) shots of the open New Mexico desert. There was fencing all along the southern, western and eastern edges of the landscape, so I decided to make use of them in the shot as seen above.
This was the final shot I made before leaving going back down that challenging dirt road nervously scraping the front bumper of the Mazda3 for at least a quarter mile before it was simply just loose dirt road for another 4 miles!
