Professional Food Photography in Albuquerque New Mexico at Carraro's

Natural light and natural balance!

UberEats sends me about one or two food photography assignments per month, after doing about 30 when they first debuted that service 1.5 years ago. This time I went to Carraro’s in the UNM area of Albuquerque. UberEats wants natural light from a window in the restaurant, and fill light can be added by using a reflector, which is what I used even for this hero shot. I propped the reflector against the table with my camera bag, stood on a chair, flipped out the screen on my Nikon D750, pointed the camera straight down, and boom, hero shot! It took me a few tries to align the food who I liked and to make sure none of the plates overlapped. Just using a little natural light, and my own natural balance to get a professional food photo!

People are starting to find me specifically looking for headshots for LinkedIn. The more headshots I make and the more I write blog posts about how important it is to standout with a modern headshot, the more I find clients wanting a new headshot for LinkedIn specifically I get. When I make a new connection on LinkedIn and am then offered other people I may want to connect with, I scroll down looking at who has a professional looking headshot, and who has some casual photo taking with a cell phone with a busy background. What kind of impression do you want to make with potential employers, clients, and customers? Shannon definitely wanted to make the best impression she could on LinkedIn regarding the visual impact a modern headshot presents to anyone browsing her profile, looking to make a connection, and even thinking about hiring her.

Another networking friend becomes a headshot client

Maria is a long-time networking friend. She is the kind of person that makes any gathering much more enjoyable with her great energy and enthusiasm. She needed to update her headshot and I was very glad that she chose me as her photographer. She came to the JCP Home Studio, petted Kiki, then it was headshot session time. Like many recent clients, she liked the black background in addition to the more common white background. I showed her all the photos we made on my 4K monitor and these two are the ones she chose.

3 leches was great!

Back out on another food photography assignment for UberEats in Albuquerque, New Mexico this morning at Buen Provecho. This restaurant is run by the very friendly Katia and features Costa Rican food and photography! It is a very small space in the new El Vado, with outside seating only. However, as you can see, there are big meals and very tempting desserts. In fact I got to take home the 3 leches and flan! The 3 leches in particular will have me back soon for more!

Back on another food photography assignment for UberEats in Albuquerque, New Mexico this time at Papa Felipe's Mexican Restaurant in the northeast area of the city. It was great to meet Karen and Larry who had the food all out quickly and were helpful holding the reflector for the hero shot above! I find people really like to be impromptu photographer's assistants!
