Consistent Professional Product Photography in Albuquerque

Even though Tavis of Morrison Outdoors has moved from New Mexico to Washington, I am very flattered he continues to choose me as his product photographer for his innovative kids sleeping bags. He shipped the latest sleeping bag to me and I made the same series of photos of the product like I had done for him in three past shoots. Providing consistent results over several years is something I am proud to offer clients here at Jason Collin Photography. This time Tavis wanted a few extra shots of the sleeping bag “dancing” that he could use for a fun gif. So the four photos above if you swipe through them quickly give the illusion of the orange sleeping bag doing a little dance! During an Amazon product photography shoot here in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the JCP Home Studio I got to photograph climbing ropes for the first time. Marshall from NE Heights Climbing brought them over an assisted with getting the rope placement just right in coiled form, detail, and full shot. Marshall wanted professional quality product photos he could use both on his own website and for listing his products on Amazon as well. Marshall of NE Heights Climbing visited the JCP Home Studio with a new line of beanie hats and a leather patch hat. He is starting this new company here in Albuquerque, New Mexico and wants to be able to sell his line of products on his own website (see above) and on Amazon. Using my ultra-high resolution Sony a7R IV mirrorless camera, professional off camera lighting, and advanced editing, I delivered modern product photos for Marshall that are Amazon ready. He was also a great help during the shoot with styling the hats and best of all, he let me have the blue beanie which I wore that same day when walking my dog! That’s because almost exactly one year to the day I photographed it first for BioLife Solutions. They have updated the look and branding on their mod pak product and needed professional product photography of it to go with the other product photos I made for them last year. I was contacted by Planar two months ago to make professional commercial photos of their LED panel displays products they installed in a call center in Hobbs, New Mexico. However, Covid-19 soon shut everything down and it took until now for it to be safe to travel to Hobbs and finally make the photos. To make these images I knew the challenge would be how to capture the bright LED displays in a dimly lit space.

Returning client Tavis, of Morrision Outdoors, brought his latest kids sleeping bags to the JCP Home Studio for professional product shots, that are featured on REI.com. This was my third shoot for him, and done in a safe, social distancing way in this time of Covid-19. He dropped off the sleeping bags in the studio with both of us wearing masks and 6 feet apart, and then left as I started the photo session with great help from Jessica as always who staged the sleeping bags. I show one of our secrets in a BTS photo below showing how to get volume in a sleeping bag by filing it with towels, paper towels, and even a canister of disinfectant wipes!
