Matthew visited the JCP Home Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico for modern professional business headshots and had one look and pose and one background color he settled on that he liked. So how did I find a way to add variety to that? I changed up the lighting, and converted one of the photos to black and white as a free bonus to provide that variety. My goal as a headshot photographer is to make the headshot the client wants, and make the client look their best in that photo. More and more THC, cannabis, edibles, and CBD clients are choosing Jason Collin Photography for professional product photography here in Albuquerque. The latest client brought a variety of THC infused products ranging from drink shooters, to gummies, to taffy pieces! I made high resolution photos in extreme detail that allow for zooming in and seeing the embossed THC clearly even on the small gummies. (check out the second shoot on a reflective black background)

Back out on assignment for an out of state trade magazine to make more commercial portraits and personal branding photos for an upcoming article they are writing about Del Esparza. I met Del at his downtown ABQ office which had this great brick wall, conference room, and open space to make enough photos right there. However, we finished the shoot with some high impact street portraits, one of my favorite kinds of photos to make. For all these photos I used my Sony 50mm f/1.2 GM lens that excels in both small spaces still creating shallow depth of field shots, and out in open space for more landscape portrait type shots with some out of focus background. Shooting on location like this allows me to create unique backgrounds for clients. Great job in front of the camera Del!

Tavis of Morrison Outdoors is one of my most long time clients since I moved the photo business to Albuquerque 6 years ago. He keeps coming up with new fantastic sleeping bags, which means I get more products to photograph here at the JCP Home Studio. This time it was 8 colorful sleeping bags for kids. What is unique about these sleeping bags, as you can see, is they are person shaped with arms and fold over cuffs. He has come out with adult sizes too (photos coming soon) so if you like the thought of being in a non-tubuler sleeping bag, the whole family can have matching sleeping bags! Long time law firm client, Vrapi Weeks, has had a steady stream of new lawyer hires, and one partner wanted an update to her headshot I made for her a few weeks ago, so even shot individually, I am able to make team headshots for them! I have now made headshots for Vrapi Weeks going on three years, with a consistent style so each new team member’s headshot looks like the first one I made several years ago. I think it is fantastic that as soon as a new team member joins the firm, I get a call to schedule that person’s headshot, so their headshot looks just like all the others!
