Best Headshots in Albuquerque for Business Professionals with Matthew

Best Headshots in Albuquerque for Business Professionals with Matthew

Variety in simplicity with modern business headshots in Albuquerque

Matthew visited the JCP Home Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico for modern professional business headshots and had one look and pose and one background color he settled on that he liked. So how did I find a way to add variety to that? I changed up the lighting, and converted one of the photos to black and white as a free bonus to provide that variety. My goal as a headshot photographer is to make the headshot the client wants, and make the client look their best in that photo. Great job in front of the camera Matthew and thank you for choosing me as your headshot photographer!

Creative Professional Headshots on black background in Albuquerque with Kathy

Creative Professional Headshots on black background in Albuquerque with Kathy

Black background headshots make a strong impact

Kathy visited the JCP Home Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico wanting an updated modern headshot. We used several different background colors, but as many clients increasingly do, she chose both of her headshots on the bold look of the black background. Giving headshot clients options is what I strive for as they may think they wanted one background color, and until you see yourself on other colors, you may be surprised how much you like something you never even considered. Of course, all photo shoots here at Jason Collin Photography are using Covid-19 safe practices which I detail in this video. Thank you Kathy for choosing me as your headshot photographer and to her husband John for recommending me to her!

Listen to headshot clients, deliver great results!

Listening to what my clients want is something I like to think I do very well. So to read Bettina’s review of our headshot shoot was very satisfying to me as she said, “took the time to learn what my vision / goal was.” For her shoot, she wanted black and gray backgrounds, and I made sure that the position of her glasses relevant to the camera lens looked the best (i.e. no artifacting causing doubles nor any glare). Bettina was very good in front of the camera, so we were able to take a few shots, proof them together, then refine things exactly in the second round of headshots. Then to receive such a wonderful review made me happy knowing I was able to deliver great headshots for my client. Thank you again Bettina!

Standout from other interns looking for jobs in Albuquerque

Networking friend Brian of Noventum Custom Software recommended that his intern Junchao get a professional headshot rather than just using his cell phone to take one. I am thankful for Brian’s referral and very glad that Junchao decided to make the best investment in personal branding by getting a modern, professional headshot. Look how he stands out on the team page and will stand out on LinkedIn and everywhere else he competes in a visual way with others for future jobs. Would your headshot compete with his if you are trying to catch the eye of a new employer? Think about it, would you decide to first contact someone representing themselves in a professional, modern way, or someone who made a minimal effort?

Executive Professional Business Headshot in St. Petersburg Florida with Elwood

An executive came to my home studio in St. Petersburg Florida for a professional business headshot - Nikon D300 Nikkor 80-200mm @ f/9 ISO 200 1/80th - Strobist: SB-800 @ 1/2 power in 43" brolly to frame rightAnother business professional visited my home photography studio in St. Petersburg Florida this week for a professional business headshot.  Elwood needed a headshot to be used on the corporate website and had guidelines from the home office for lighting, pose, etc.  The above headshot is not the result of following those guidelines that were rather bland.  Instead, this is a headshot I made just for his own personal use in a more modern and creative style.  I used only one speedlight to frame right in a 43" brolly to create the shadow and light falloff on the right side of his face.  Having shadow defines the look of the person in the headshot much more for a modern look that is still professional.

Elwood was seated for this shot with his right forearm on his right thigh to create depth in his posture.  To avoid glare in his glasses, I positioned the speedlight higher on the light stand than I normally do.  I also had him look just about one centimeter lower too.  Poof, glare and reflection in his glasses was gone.  The background was a white sheet, and in Photoshop I removed that and replaced it with a pure white digital background for the final look.
