James Bond Theme Couples Portraits with an Aston Martin V8 Vantage

Photography student Nicole wanted a James Bond theme portrait shoot with her husband and an Aston Martin!  Nikon D300 Tamron 17-50mm @ f/8 1/250th ISO 200 - Strobist: SB-800 and SB-600

My very last photo shoot in Tampa Bay was a James Bond themed portrait session with former photography student Nicole and her husband, and thanks to Dimmitt Automotive, an Aston Martin too!  It was a great way to conclude my first 6 years of formally being a professional photographer in that area.

As I just had ACL knee surgery 7 weeks earlier, and this was also the first ever outdoor photo shoot Kiki was with me, it was still a challenging shoot to physically do beside the technical challenges of photographing people with a car.  Having taught Nicole a few photography lessons provided the advantage that comes with photographing someone you already know, so that helped a lot, especially that day!

No better background than an Aston Martin! - Nikon D300 Tamron 17-50mm @ f/8 1/125th ISO 200 - Strobist: SB-800 and SB-600

With our Tampa Bay departure day rapidly approaching and with having to do physical therapy for me knee on a daily basis and Kiki needing her annual vaccinations and not knowing if we could find an Aston Martin to use, it was a small miracle all those factors came together at exactly the right time so that I could go to the vet that was near the Dimmitt Automotive dealership that kindly said we could use the Aston Martin as a portrait backdrop for free all on just the day before the day before I was to leave Tampa Bay!!

You really need an Aston Martin to do a James Bond theme portrait shoot right! - Nikon D300 Tamron 17-50mm  @ f/8 1/250th ISO 200 - Strobist: SB-800 and SB-600

I was very glad to be able to come up with an idea to bring to life the James Bond themed portraits Nicole wanted, even having an Aston Martin to boot!  They dressed the part as you can see and were great keeping cool in such clothes in the sweltering Florida June heat.  Kiki did her part staying under a shady tree and letting me take my time trying multiple angles and poses and lighting techniques.

Kiki and I got in one photo of us with the Aston Martin V8 Vantage before leaving Tampa Bay for good after 6 years living there together.

So that is how I concluded my photography time in Tampa Bay.  I could not leave before getting a photo of Kiki and I with the Aston Martin V8 Vantage!
