Using shallow depth of field for Pebble Beach sunset photography
It was a beautiful evening here in the Pebble Beach area so I took my camera to one of my favorite spots along 17 Mile Drive, Bird Rock. I already had the Sony 50mm f/1.2 lens on my camera from a shoot the day before, so I left that on, to get a different perspective for sunset photography, and I knew before going there I did want to shoot at f/1.2 for shallow DoF shots. Then I saw these flowers growing atop a small cliff, and used them as the focal point and let the sun go out of focus. This extreme difference in foreground and background focus interests me and I feel reveals a different world.
Carmel Airbnb Photography for a cozy cottage on Torres St
Melissa did a fantastic job of preparing her Airbnb property in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California for its first photography day of two. I will return to get twilight shots and more exterior shots in the near future. This photo focussed on the main living space, the dining room, and the two bedrooms. I worked closely with Melissa to photograph just the spaces from the angles that were the most photo ready. It was a true team effort on this Airbnb photo shoot in Carmel. Thank you for choosing me as your Airbnb Photographer Melissa!
Professional Photography of construction renovations in Pebble Beach California
This was the fourth renovation shoot (first and second and third shoots) I did for Adelle of Murrer Construction this time featuring some detailed bathroom design, custom cabinetry, and a whole new kitchen for a home redone from the studs out in Pebble Beach, California. Adelle’s team did a great job with a mix of styles from a more modern and open kitchen, to custom wallpapering in a bedroom, to a bathtub with full view of the backyard area. Thank you Adelle for continuing to choose me as your photographer for your construction renovation projects in the Pebble Beach area.
Making professional photos of paintings for product use in Monterey
Derrick contacted me about photographing some of his paintings on wood. I asked for a few more details, like the size of the pieces, which I learned would easily fit in my photography studio here in Pacific Grove, California. He wanted professional, high resolution photos of his paintings to be used for making products like stickers. I enjoy seeing other people’s artwork up close like this. It was a fun shoot. Thank you Elijah for assisting and thank you Derrick for choosing me as your photographer! I look forward to photographing more of your paintings in the future
The ribbon cutting events that the Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce puts on feature all kinds of different businesses in town. This one I had walked by quite a bit in the past year, but never went inside until this ribbon cutting event. If you like antiques and nostalgia, then The Grove Emporium is a place to definitely check out.
Professional Photography for Hotel Interiors and Amenities in Salinas California
This was actually my very first time to Salinas, to make professional interior photos of a Hampton Inn hotel. I had never photographed a hotel that had 9 different room types before either! In additional to the room photos, I got photographs of the amenities the hotel had like an indoor pool, a gym, a large conference room, and a small business center. Once spring blooms more, I will return for the exterior shots and drone video. Thank you to the team at this Hampton Inn that made the shoot go smoothly and very efficiently!
