Tech Nuts Rio Rancho Staff Headshots

Tech Nuts Rio Rancho Staff Headshots

Tech Nuts need headshots too!

If you are a long time reader of the JCP blog, then you may recognize the person in the upper left from another headshot shoot in February 2018. That’s Arkulas Beyer of Tech Nuts in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. He hired a few new staff members and wanted headshots of them to feature on an updated Tech Nuts website. I got to visit Arkulas on his home turf right in the Tech Nuts computer shop. Thus, I got to see more of his personality as he interacted with his staff, which includes his dad (upper right)! You can notice the difference in his photo too with more of a smile than his previous one.

Cottonwood Dog Park Rio Rancho Ribbon Cutting

Cottonwood Dog Park Rio Rancho Ribbon Cutting

Rio Rancho doglife just got better!

I have been taking my dog, Kiki, to dog parks across the country for all her 9.5 year life. Having a good dog park is a key feature of any place I choose to live. Therefore, the opening of more dog parks is always welcome, and especially ones in urban areas. Such a dog park opened right in the middle of the Cottonwood Mall parking lot in Rio Rancho, New Mexico! Before the ribbon cutting event hosted by the ABQ West Chamber of Commerce I had a hard time imagining how a dog park could be in a mall. Whoever the designers were deserve great praise for making a fantastic dog park, with obstacles, shade and easy access to water for both dog and human alike! I have never seen such a large gathering of dogs with all dogs getting along so well either! We live far from this dog park, so will not be regulars, but when on the west side I look forward to visiting again!

Rio Rancho Neighborhood Residential Real Estate Photography

Rio Rancho Neighborhood Residential Real Estate Photography

Coralee is a real estate agent that really cares!

I had the pleasure of working with a new real estate agent, Coralee Quintana, photographing a residential real estate listing for her in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. We met at an Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce ambassador meeting. At the listing she was very helpful getting last minute things in order for me to photograph the exteriors first, and then the interiors. She went above and beyond to insure the best results and really helped out the home owner as well. I did my part looking for creative, as well as the traditional, interior photography angles and composition. Check out the photo below using the bed in the foreground, not the typical bedroom real estate photo!

Rat Rod in Rio Rancho Car Photography

Rat Rod in Rio Rancho Car Photography

Is there a junior adult?

This rat rod style hot rod at a small car show in Rio Rancho caught my eye for where it was parked, as well as how it looked.  I cannot say I had ever seen a parking space marked "SENIOR ADULT" before.  Does that mean there must be a junior adult or a senior child space somewhere in the world?  This hot rod was about as ratty as they can come, and I mean no offense by that!  It looked awesome and make me think I needed a tetanus shot just for standing next to it!

New Mexico Jeep Renegade Trailhawk real off roader

New Mexico Jeep Renegade Trailhawk real off roader

Not a shopping mall Jeep!

Those that know me, know that I love cars, well, special cars.  Not all have to be as special as my beloved Aston Martin Vanquish (some day!), but even just the ability to go anywhere, do anything is enough.  Getting serious speed in a car is not that affordable, especially for newer models.  However, getting serious offroad ability is.  When I traded in my faithful and much loved Mazda3 sedan in March for the Jeep Renegade Trailhawk you see here, I was giving up great, affordable on road driving dynamics for the ability to drive offroad anywhere a stock vehicle could.

Rio Rancho Rural Land Photography August 2018

Neither rain, nor lightning . . . nor hail!

Back on a rural land photography assignment for Hemingway Land Company in remote northwest Rio Rancho, New Mexico, I had to wait out a deluge, hail, and lightning to get these photos!  A lot can happen in 30 miles in the evening during the monsoon season in New Mexico, and that was certainly the case as I left Albuquerque in mostly sunny skies only to end up surrounded by dark clouds in all directions in Rio Rancho.  I got a few quick photos, then the rain came and I took cover inside my Jeep Renegade Trailhawk.  In the middle of the rain I saw in my rearview mirror a lone rider on horseback.  I could not tell who liked it least being caught in the rain, man or horse!

macro lens at a classic car show

Going to a car show for the first time, you never really know what to expect with regard to how many cars, how cool of cars, and even what kinds of cars.  I was pleasantly surprised by a recent small car show I went to in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.  A good number of classic cars many of which had very interesting interiors.  With my new Tamron 90mm f/2.8 Macro SP lens on my Nikon D750 exclusively while at this car show, I decided to make the theme of my shots the cool classic car interiors, with a few detail shots here and there.  Check out the sense of humor of a 1966 Mustang owner with what passes for an "airbag" in his classic car!
