Model Portfolio shoot in Albuquerque with a professional MUA
Leanna wanted a model portfolio photo shoot here in Albuquerque with a professional MUA present for the shoot. Well, this year I have formally partnered with Samanthia to work as a MUA and hair stylist for shoots right here in the JCP Home Studio. We made a wide variety of photos for Leanna from head to toe to headshot. In between shots Samanthia made sure Leanna’s hair was in place looking its best. Getting creative with shooting and setting up for head-to-toe headshots in New Mexico
This past summer PayneWest had its annual awards event here in New Mexico where I made event photos, but before that, 27 team members visited the mobile studio setup for a head-to-toe headshot that featured their personality. Even after 13 years, new things can come up with a shoot, and this time it was using a seamless paper background on location for head-to-toe headshots, which I have done many, many times, but this time the space provided had carpeting! Paper on carpet is no good, with high heels instantly going through the paper. I had to think quick, and asked the staff at Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa if they had any portable dance floor squares, thinking back to my wedding photographer days. They did! So then the head-to-toe headshots could proceed where I shot tethered (see below) so that each person could see instant results and change up their pose how they liked. Actors and models looking for modern, creative headshots are choosing Jason Collin Photography more and more because of the wide variety of photos made in a relatively short shoot. Such was the case when Tatiana visited the JCP Home Studio and in just about a 30 minute photo shoot, I was able to make numerous actor headshots and head-to-toe model portfolio photos for her. Since I offer tethered shooting for in studio, being able to see her photos live on a big screen helped us get the exact right expressions and looks she wanted without the need for an inconvenient proofing gallery. I like to offer everything live to clients, so they can see the results instantly as we are shooting. Creative variety in model portfolio photography in Albuquerque
One of my goals as a commercial photographer is to offer clients who visit the JCP Home Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico, great variety in the photos we make during the shoot, even in just a one hour shoot. Such was the case when Jolie visited for a model portfolio shoot, including some headshots too. She had a number of outfit changes ready, and with shooting head to toe, three-quarter, and the aforementioned headshots, I was able to make for her in just one hour 25 photos she chose from her proofing gallery! I was really pleased with the creativity and variety in photos I was able to make for Jolie and very glad she chose 25 of them to add to her modeling portfolio. Local Albuquerque actor O’Brien visited the JCP Home Studio for a series of portfolio shots and headshots. Working on a white seamless background in a Covid-19 safe shooting environment, I was able to make for O’Brien a wide variety of high impact photos to fill out his acting portfolio with, and a headshot that will catch the eye of casting directors. This was a really fun photo shoot with O’Brien being open to my ideas and bringing his own ideas as well. The result was a varied portfolio shoot with maximum creativity. One of my best returning clients for nearly the entire time Jason Collin Photography has been in Albuquerque, is Deanna of The Southwest Life Group.
