When local Albuquerque author and friend Sonja Dewing contacted me last week about needing some book cover photos for her, to be written the upcoming weekend, memoir, I was glad I had a last minute spot left in my schedule for the week. There were two concepts for the book cover, one using just some of her items from her time in service (like dog tags, etc) and then one with her holding some of these items. We made the lay flat image first using one of my new Duo Boards with a faux (but hyperrealistic) wood background. Then we made the photo with Sonja on a white seamless background with some of those items in her hand and on her person in various ways (check out the BTS shot below). Over the weekend she chose to go with the items on the wood background for the actual book cover photo. I think the final result turned out great!

Professional Commercial Photography for a Day Spa in Albuquerque

he whole time I was at Remedy Day Spa in Albuquerque, New Mexico making better than stock images, commercial portraits, and interior and exterior photos, I kept thinking to myself, “who knew this oasis was right in the middle of ABQ??” I met Mandy, the owner, who wanted me to capture the full range of spa services she has available, from secluded wooden barrels hot tub soaks, to professional massage, to a large yoga studio. It was one of the most wide ranging commercial photo shoots I have had. The photos feature the actual Remedy team in them, for that better than stock image photo feel because it shows the actual Remedy Day Spa team in the actual Remedy Day Spa setting. Now, all of Albuquerque can see and discover this hidden gem right in Nob Hill! Thank you Mandy for choosing me as your photographer and also to the Remedy team that did a great job in front of the lens all day. And thank you to Jessica for assisting on this, I wish I had gotten a BTS shot of you holding that huge diffuser over the hot tub!

Candid Commercial Portraits for the Engineering team at BHI ABQ

It was great to return to the Bohannan Huston campus for another two days of photography right here in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Three years ago I made dozens of headshots and a handful of candid commercial portraits. This time, more of the engineers at BHI wanted to get their own cool candid to feature when they go to conferences, events, and have an alternative to their headshot. Over the course of two mornings, I found a variety of backgrounds right outside their building such that two dozen people each got their own unique candid commercial portrait. Thank you to the tea at BHI for being so organized, and to the engineers for being so great in front of the camera, even outside on two warm summer mornings!

New Mexico Legal Group invited me back to their offices here in Albuquerque, New Mexico this time to make some candids of the team for what I call better than stock photos. Why use strangers from stock images on your own website when you can show off your team in the actual office space your clients will be visiting and seeing? I think NMLG made a great choice to feature its own attorneys and staff in this series of photos to go along with the team headshots I made of everyone last year. Camper Airbnb photography in ABQ for marketing

Brian purchased a new camper van to use as an Airbnb rental for adventurous people in Albuquerque, New Mexico looking for a unique way of exploring and sleeping in the state. The best way to get the camper booked every weekend is to have professional photos made of it to feature on the camper’s Airbnb listing. Brian chose a site with mountains in the background and parked offroad to highlight the adventure aspect of choosing this camper van as an Airbnb. Jacquelyn of Shaw Skin Clinic in Albuquerque, New Mexico contacted me about getting updated headshots for her team as well as new commercial portraits featuring a new team member. I always highly recommend to business owners to have professional commercial portraits and actions shots made of your actual team doing the actual service your business does rather than using stock photography. The difference in impact is not even comparable. Take these commercial portraits I made for Jacquelyn for example. Instead of meaningless stock images, you are seeing the actual skincare professional in the actual setting you will be getting the treatment in. I believe this really helps a client/customer/patient choose your business because they will already get to see who they will be working with, and what environment they will be in. Plus, I have also long been saying every member of your team should have the same professional headshot as everyone else, so that clients/customers/patients know that each member of the team is valued the same as even the owner of the business. Team headshots for accountants in Albuquerque

I have been saying how uncanny the timing of my photography jobs are more and more, and with this return to the accounting firm of Loftis and Lovato nearly exactly two years to the day since I first made team headshots for them (check out those team headshots to see how people changed), things just getting even more uncanny! L & L have added some new team members, and others just wanted updated headshots from what I made for them 2 years ago. I brought the same gray background and lighting setup I used 2 years ago to keep the consistent look with the all the other team members that came to the JCP Home Studio just to get an individual headshot in the meantime. L & L have since moved to a new location, which is featured in the updated group shot I made for the whole team.
